The Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV), organisers of the 2017 Melbourne Boat Show which will be held from June 16 to 19 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, has received overwhelming support from exhibitors, with 80 percent of exhibitor space already allocated.
BIAV Event Coordinator, Monica Tonner said the industry has been quick to express their keenness at participating in this year’s Show.
“With planning well underway for this year’s Show, applications to exhibit have been coming in rapidly, with many of the open spaces being taken up. This further emphasises to us how significant the Show is for the industry, particularly to their marketing strategy and getting their brand out to the public.
“We’ve also streamlined our booking process and have taken it online, making it more efficient and easier for exhibitors to secure their space.”
Hearing exhibitor feedback from a comprehensive survey conducted by BIAV, Show times have also been changed at this year’s Show. Those changes include:
• Friday: 10am to 8pm (previously closing at 9pm)
• Saturday: 10am to 8pm (previously closing at 9pm)
• Sunday: 10am to 6pm (no change)
• Monday: 10am to 5pm (previously closing at 6pm)
Many of the big names have already secured space for this year’s Show including Streaker Marine, Whittley Marine, Bar Crusher Boats, J.V. Marine, Mercury, 38 South Boat Sales, Yamaha, Geelong Marine World, Performance Marine and Sundance Marine just to name a few.
In addition to the positive take up from exhibitors, the Melbourne Boat Show will have a fresh new look with Moreton Hire coming on board as the official exhibitor and events contractor; providing for 2017 upgrades to shell schemes, new and bolder signage to highlight exhibitor brands, and new carpeting, all to help increase attraction to exhibitor stands.
“In addition to the fresh new look, we will have a full program of stage presentations on topics of interest to many into the boating and fishing lifestyle and those new to it too,” said Tonner.
“We also want to provide exhibitors with every opportunity to maximise their marketing potential through the Show and will be promoting it heavily through our advertising campaign and other marketing channels.”
