To launch the 2019 RACV Marine Melbourne Boat Show, a wake surfing exhibition ‘Surfing on the Yarra’ was held outside the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre today at 10.45am (Wednesday 5 June 2019).
The exhibition ran for 20 mins with champion wakesurfer, Trent Wardrope, wake surfing across the swells of the Yarra River. Wake surfing is a water sport that uses technology called Surf Gate to create a surfable wave behind a boat in the chilly Yarra!
This year, the show is set to make even bigger waves with the ‘Surfing on the Yarra’ exhibition kicking off festivities and tens of thousands of people expected to attend the Boat Show event over four days.
Widely regarded as Victoria’s premier boating event, the RACV Marine sponsored show is an annual reminder for families and boating enthusiasts of the positive and rewarding lifestyle that boating activities provide.
With a range of demonstrations, huge prize giveaways and over 100 exhibits, the BIGGER, BETTER, BOATIER show will feature the latest models of boats of every kind. From wake and ski boats, to tinnies, kayaks and top end luxury cruisers, whatever boat you float, you’ll find it docked at the show.
